I Have To Look Like Where I’m Going
When I think about the phrase “I have to look like where I’m going,” I’m reminded of Esther. Before she ever wore the crown, she went through a process of preparation. It wasn’t just about beauty treatments or oils-it was about becoming. Becoming a woman of poise, purpose, and prophetic alignment.
Esther didn’t walk into the palace as a common girl; she walked in carrying herself like a queen long before the crown touched her head. Every oil, every garment, every moment of waiting was a symbol of her transformation-from hidden to chosen, from ordinary to appointed. “Before the crown every touched her head the anointing was already on her life.”
It’s not just about changing your clothes-it’s about changing your posture, your confidence, and your mindset. It’s allowing God to prepare you privately for what He’s about to reveal publicly.
When I say “I have to look like where I’m going,” I’m not trying to impress people-I’m honoring purpose. I’m aligning with destiny. I’m choosing to walk like the woman God already said I am even before the world sees it.
Like Esther, I’m in my preparation season. God is teaching me how to carry myself as royalty, how to dress like someone who knows she’s called. It’s not about fashion; it’s about faith. It’s not about vanity; it’s about vision.
So when I look in the mirror, I remind myself: I’m not dressing for where I am-I’m dressing for where I’m going. The palace requires a different posture. The assignment demands a different appearance. The anointing carries a different weight and I must be ready for it.
Esther 2:15 “And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all them that looked upon her.”
