When God is Quietly Setting the Table
There are moments in life that seem ordinary at first. It could be simple conversations, familiar faces, and brief interactions. Yet, after reflection, it becomes clear that God is present in every detail.
Recently, I found myself in a conversation with someone I’ve known for some time. Our connection had been minimal, just an awareness through shared spaces. What was intended to be a group interaction shifted, and it became just the two of us. There was a calm assurance in that moment like a peace that settled without explanation. That moment carried weight. It revealed itself as a divine encounter.
I’m growing in the understanding that every connection carries purpose. Each person we encounter holds a role within God’s greater plan…whether for a moment, a season, or a lifetime. Some plant seeds. Some nurture what has already been planted. Others help bring clarity to what God has placed within us. Every interaction matters. What unfolds over time is the meaning behind those connections.
There’s a natural desire to define relationships quickly - to understand their purpose and direction right away. Yet, God often reveals things gradually. He allows connections to develop in layers, unfolding purpose in His timing.
Over the past year, I experienced this in a personal way. An unexpected connection grew into something life changing, something that only God could orchestrate. His timing aligned perfectly, and that connection became a catalyst for where I am today. That experience reshaped how I approach every interaction.
I move with greater awareness. I listen more closely. I remain attentive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Because what appears to be a simple moment often carries divine intention.
That recent conversation reminded me again that God is always at work, even in the quiet exchanges. I continue learning to follow His leading, to remain open, and to watch as He unfolds His plan with precision and care. Every connection is meaningful and God is intentional in every detail.
He is always setting the table and each of us is invited into something greater than we can see in the moment. Pay attention to the connections unfolding around you. God often reveals His hand through people He places in your path.
WELL Reflection Prompt:
What if the connection in front of you right now is part of a greater plan unfolding?
